Some of you active partners in this Forum have connected with me in the past and have a military history. Our Dad passed away 31 May at 92. He was an Air Force pilot flying a B-17 on his 7th mission back from Berlin when his crew was shot down. He spent 13 months in Stalag Luft #3 and was being moved around on D-Day. He was somewhat fluent in German and was able to read a German headline to spread the message that the "Invasion Had Started". He eventually escaped on a forced march. Dad had an amazing military career during the Kennedy years, and then went on to Lockheed to manage their L1011 program in Europe. He would have been proud of his full military gravesite honors. Very moving and unforgettable. I respect Fairchild AFB's Wing Commander to take his Saturday to honor him, as well as the FAFB Survival School Chaplain to officiate at the last minute. I respect everyone of these men that serve today, THEY are exceptional and they honor their predecessors!
