MarkF New member Mar 8, 2015 #1 I loaded my #3 with 45LBs go beef and St Louis spare ribs. Set to 235. Cooked for 6 hours. I know that it is rated for 45 LBs but I was a bit nervous as I've never loaded it up like that before. Picture is not too good and is of the aftermath. SuperDave New member Mar 10, 2015 #5 45 lbs of ribs and the empty paper towel core in the picture was worth a good chuckle too. ;D
Pork Belly Moderator Mar 10, 2015 #7 Did you use the rib rack? How many racks is 45 pounds and how did you lay them out in the smoker? I have done eight racks on three shelves in my #3 but am unsure as to what the total weight was. That batch was at 235 for 5 hours.

Walt New member Mar 10, 2015 #8 The SAMS 3 packs are in the 9lb range. Sounds like 15 racks. I've done 9 in my #2 & could theoretically fit 11-1/2 with the rack in the top position.
