3D just arrived- what are the black trim pieces?

My 3D is here, casters installed and everything thoroughly vacuumed, ready to get seasoned. I've looked thru the entire included paperwork and this site, but I can't figure out where the two black painted metal pieces go?

Any tips?

Wow! So bizarre! They've got holes pre-drilled into them and are painted. They seemed so purpose built.

1.5 hour into the seasoning, I think I'm in love with the idea of having something that does all the work, quietly and relatively cleanly while I do whatever else I choose. :)

I'll probably do a bone in pork butt first. It'll be nice to have dinners made up for the next few days since I work 13 hour shifts. I'd rather come home to good BBQ than the drive thru processed food, carbs and junk that I've been getting fat on the last 6 months (the price of newfound bachelorhood).

They're actually re-purposed parts from the factory, now used for shipping protection.  I just had to find out, when I got mine!

Received my 3D unit today and I had the same question about these black trim pieces. As mentioned before they look like they should fit somewhere on the unit.. Tried them everywhere and then looked at the accessories and parts sections on this site.. Should have just came to the forum :)

What are the metal U-shaped (or Omega) pieces in the plastic bag inside the smoker?  They look like handles for something, but I'm not sure for what.  Any help on these silver metal pieces?

They look like they might be cord holders, but where would they be attached?

Just remove the screws and put the cord holder on and reinsert screws.

Tom, the black angle-iron pieces are packing material.  If you got the pieces shown in John's (Smokin3D) picture, you threw away cord holders. :o

Tom,

Steve is including them with some models now, but I'm not sure which.  You're one of the lucky ones!  Dave got them with his 3D, but I didn't...go figure! ???
