I'm going to tomorrow and was curious if anyone has tried a quick/fast smoke
Well, that was short lived. Once the 3D got above 293 box temp the temp 1 is flashing AH1 and beeping non-stop. Power cycled and same result. I know these are supposed to go to 325 so not sure what the deal is yet.
Back in business. Did a search and found out the first batch of 3D’s were not programmed right for the higher temp. Changed AH1 to 375 and AH2 to 210 and I’m rocking on.
After a 30min rest...moist, very tasty, and surprisingly a great smoke note!
I highly doubt I could tell any diff between my normal 225 smoke and this one if blindfolded. WiN!
Next time I’ll do the same, but not foil. I like a pretty hard crust you can’t really get with the Texas crutch. If the 2nd time works as well as this one did I’ll be doing 300F from here on.
