New Model 2
« on: December 01, 2016, 05:10:45 PM »
Just arrived, Model Two assembled and seasoning commenced.  Nice assortment of Cyber Monday incentives included.  Ordered Monday, received here in Virginia Thursday afternoon.  Nicely done.

Look forward to experience, insight and support from the group.

Thank you.  Kind of sour aromas coming out with hickory smoke midway through first hour.  I assume that's kinda the reason for having a seasoning/break-in.

Welcome Steve from SE Arizona. The off smell is just the burning off of any residue from manufacturing. Enjoy your smoker.

Just got my #2 a couple weeks ago and love it!  Welcome to the family... keep us posted on how things go for you.  I love the smell of hickory, so it shouldn't smell bad.  I'm sure you're on the mark with it just being the point of seasoning in the first place.  :)

Welcome, and congrats, Steve!  Yeah, seasoning cooks off the manufacturing oils, so the smell will only get better!
