4* outside

Weather lady is calling for a low of 4* and i want to put a pork butt in the smoker over night. Think its too cold?  I dont want the heating element to over work to kep the unit hot.

There have been lots of folks who have smoked in really frigid weather with no problems.    I pulled up this posting using the search feature.   Probably the biggest challenge will be getting the smoker up to temp with cold meat.  After that it should be smooth sailing/smoking. There are more posts that may instill some confidence/have helpful hints so give it a shot.

RW, do you have an analog unit or a D model?  The PID is what hates cold.
