Relocated 3D box probe. How to plug left behind hole?
« on: December 16, 2017, 07:37:09 PM »
Finally moved the box probe in my 3D to it's proper home of 1" from the top vs 4.5".
Suggestions on how to best plug the old hole?

I would find some Stainless bolts with fender washers if possible. If not get the best you can find of the right diameter. Washers on both sides and you should be fine. If you wanted to take an extra step you could always put a dab of the red RTV sealant under the washers as well, but I'm not sure that is necessary. Good for you, I need to do the same thing on my 4D.

I ended up just going to ACE and getting a bolt and washers. Did the auto-tune before Christmas break and finally doing my 1st smoke post probe relocation.

Don’t know that I noticed much diff since it was pretty solid prior. Having more room for meat up higher is a huge plus!
