Built a cart for my #2
« on: October 12, 2016, 06:15:56 PM »
Built this over the weekend. The top is a 19" x 36" x 1-3/4" metal piece that was originally intended to fill in transom over the door of a commercial bathroom. It is basically a small fire rated steel commercial grade exterior door. It was ordered in error and was going to be thrown away, but I saw a use for it. Was going to make just a simple cart, but then decided I really needed a drawer which made it a little more complex and costly. I ended up spending $114 on this thing and that's with no cost for the top. Could have save some money if used cheap drawer guides but I opted for the ball bearing full extension type. Also bought new casters that plate mounted instead of the stud mount that came with the smoker. Smoker is bolted to the top where the original casters threaded in. Ready to put it into action this weekend.

I still need to paint the top and put some clear sealer on the wood.
