Auto tune on 3d
« on: June 06, 2016, 06:47:29 PM »
Steve suggested that I perform an autotune due to some issues I was having. Its been running for three hours now and seems to be stuck on AT/155. Is this normal?

OK.  Is it still flashing temp/AT?  3 hours is not unheard of - I've had them take up to 4.  If it doesn't complete soon, you may want to restart the tuning.  Let the smoker cool, and run it again.  I've also had to do that....  computers...what are you going to do?? >:(

Jeff, leave the door open for a half-hour or so, then set the following, and try again:

C01  225   e01 t   t01  4.0
C02-C06, zeroed-out, set to time for the "e" step.

What do you mean by "set to time for the "e" step.?

When you get to the second step, on each of the 6 programs, select "t" instead of "F."  (The 'trigger" step of the program).  This will keep it from trying to read the meat probe, and will instead read time.

Jeff, it will flash until the autotune program is complete.  Once the controller senses that it has "tune" itself, the flashing will stop.  You can also turn it off the same way you turned it on (just reverse).  Might want to do that, and re-enable it for the second round.

Finished the auto tune yesterday. Today I ran through a few basic programs to see if it helped. Sadly, it looks like the Auber is overshooting the temperature by 5-9 degrees in many instances. At the higher temps it seems to be fairly stable but at the lower temps its varying by quite a bit.
Granted 5-9 degrees isn't earth shattering but since Auber claims that their controller can hold temps to within 1 degree it's a bit surprising to find this much variation.
I've been in contact with Steve, we'll see what he thinks.

Jeff, that's a bit surprising.  Can you give me your P, I & D numbers?
