Pumpkin Seeds
« on: October 13, 2015, 11:08:53 PM »
Not much of a money shot....................but

These were "pre" roasted and salted.  Still turned out well and better dried out in the SI.

Ev Olive Oil, any favorite rub/heat tossed in bowl.

Smoke for 3 hours and let settle.

For the kids I'd bet cinnamon and sugar might work well.

I'll try the fresh ones at the end of the month, but my hunch is one would need a jerky drier to pull the water out of the seeds.   And,  the pumpkins around here or farm bought always seem to have a much less thinner skin/meat inside.

Enjoy

I used to do these in the oven with the kids.

Instead of a jerky drier for fresh seeds, maybe finish in the oven after the smoke?

Finishing in the oven makes a lot of sense to me.
