NSF Certification and Smokin-It
« on: April 23, 2015, 08:24:34 PM »
All SI models are now NSF-Certified!  NSF used to be the National Sanitation Foundation, and is pretty much the equivalent to your electric product being "UL Certified," but really, even bigger in the food industry.  This is a big deal, for anyone thinking of using the units commercially.  I see this being more important for the #3 and 4, but all of them are now certified.  From what I understand, many lenders look at this for the equipment purchases for restaurants, so it's important.

Here's a little info on NSF:

NSF For Commercial Food Equipment

This will open-up a huge market for Smokin-It!  So, if you know anyone who may be looking for a NSF-Certified smoker, send them to SI!  Spread the word!

I knew the Model 4 was to be certified but was unaware that all the smokers were going to be NSF. That is good news.

can Steve send me a sticker for my #4?
the SI#4 should be named "The American" because you can do everything in excess with it.  Just because you can.  'Murica!

I don't know, but it might be worth an email to him!  My guess is that the units that bear the sticker will have to have been manufactured after the certification date.
