Pellets??
« on: March 05, 2015, 09:25:16 PM »
I have an amazen smoker that i have used in my weber kettle. Based on what i have read it wont work too well in the model 2 for cold smoking. If not can i weigh the leftover pellets i have and use those instead of chunks??  I assume i would be able to but they might burn faster and might need to wrap a foil ball of pellets. Would that work??

Yes you can search pellets and the amazen smoker both work.

The Amazon works OK, but you sometimes need some airflow assistance. Mine works awesome with my Jerky Dryer running.

Hey Gregg. Do you use the Amazen for cold smoking only or long smokes as well?

I only use it for cold smoking. For traditional smokes like ribs and butts I use chunks. I use 3oz for ribs and 6oz for butts.

I just got an A-MAZE-N 18" tube smoker but have not tested it yet. I may try using the tube smoker on a pork butt smoke some time.

Probably just cold smoking cheese, almonds, salt if the amazen works. Will test it out but if not i will just use the pellets hot smoking.
