thermostat temps

Has anyone else had issues with the thermostat? I'm using a maverick  to check Temps in the unit and it does not reach the temp that I set my smoker to.  When I set to 225 it went up as high as 214 and low of 196.  When I set to 250 the highest it gets to is 241 and low of 225.  Temperature outside is about 40 degrees.

How close to the SI probe are you putting the Maverick probe?
