Smoked Sea Salt

Here's some sea salt I cold smoked using oak sawdust for about 6hrs or so.
Marcus from Milton Keynes, England.

Outside : Pro Q Excel 20. Brinkmann Grill. Various Cold Smoke Generators.
Indoors : Electric Lava Rock Grill.

Wow thats a trip.  I would have never thought to smoke salt.  Maybe some Kosher salt.....

It's almost the "season" for cold smoking again.  Last year I did Sea Salts and whole peppercorns, packages them in separate, small jars and gave to a couple of folks for Xmas gifts along with some pork rub. 

Easy gifts with a personal touch.

Cool! It's amazing how much "gourmet" smoked salt sells for... I'd like to try to smoke other spices as well ...hmm cinnamon? How about homemade smoked paprika?  ;D

Use a coffee filter to put it in.

I think I need a cold smoke plate!  I have some smoked salt that I love. Never thought of making my own!  +1 on the paprika!
