Ounces per wood dowel?
« on: December 07, 2013, 03:31:18 PM »
Just trying to gauge how many ounces are one nominally sized dowel. Anyone know?

What's the max dowels to use for a short smoke like ribs?
And a long marathon smoke like a 10 lb butt?

I just weighed a 2 3/4" dowel - it was 1.76 oz.  I guess this equals about 1/2 oz. per inch of dowel.  Hope this helps!
