1st Brisket from ol' #3!

Thanks to this great forum of helpful folks I was able to pull it off.  Made with Phil's Coffee / Espresso Rub.  Man is my mouth happy!

Awesome!  That meat looks fantastic...just the right amount of bark, tender and juicy, mmmm-mmm!

Did you put some sauce on it, or just eat it "naked?"

Nekkid!  I could hardly walk away from it.  Later, I added the reserve drippings to make a thin BBQ sauce.  Awesome smoker.

That looks awesome!  I'm going to try that rub this weekend on a brisket.  I was torn on the whole "coffee" thing, but I'm over it after seeing your pics!  Thanks! ;D

Espresso powder is a nice kick as well.  You grind the beans super-fine and just incorporate into the rub ... that way there's no grittiness, just flavor.
