wow that tappecue unit is badass and very close to what I have been shooting for, might be easier for me to just pick one up and integrate it into a custom housing with a PID

Folks:
What of those listed ... is the best with temp probe to monitor stuff remotely around my house and plot it out?

This is not functional at all..... just a toy I'm wonder what is best... I have an iPad... I'm not sold on that interface.... but whatever you guys think.

You guys are getting way too "techy" for me - I'm out of my league here!  lol.  I'm happy with my Maverick 732; does everything I need it to do to give me good Q.  ;D

hey, I have a maveric et73 that is old school that I have been using forever now and just finally got the 733! but that tappecue is pretty sweet since I have been wanting to get a unit to work over wifi and since this is already done then I won't really have to get into reinventing the wheel

I am really looking for something to monitor temps through my phone.  I have a large piece of property that I spend a good bit of time working on so Bluetooth is too limited for distance.  The graphing would be neat but not necessary. The Maverick looked good for around the house but still limits distance & adds another remote to deal with.  I like the sound of this tappecue but its a completely new item so I was hoping one of you knew about it. I sure wish it used the k probes.

Reposting here for those still concerned about temperature and the new Maverick.

A lot of folks like checking their smoker temperature with an auxillary device such as the Maverick using the ice water and boilling water method for checking accuracy and or calibrating.  Here are a couple of links that allow one to determine the boiling point of water based upon their altitude.

Enjoy and happy smoking.
