Title: Smoking turkey questions

Got a twelve pound turkey as a gift so gonna try it in the smoker and since I have never tried this before I have several questions.First is it to big to smoke?What type of wood and how much,smoker temp and internal temp when done and lastly where should I place my temp probe in the bird.Greatly appreciate,thanks.

Twelve pounds is fine. I like apple but have used maple or hickory, both to good success. I run at 250 box temp until the bird comes up to about 160 - 165. Use water in a box next to the heat for moisture and put the probe in the breast. The legs will be done by then. Good luck! Post pictures!  8)

3 to 4 ounces.
