Title: Scale
Post by: Meatball on February 23, 2017, 07:43:59 PM
Can anyone suggest an all around decent kitchen scale that is reasonably priced ? Looking for a multipurpose one that can be used for various jobs in the kitchen. Thanks!

I have a digital  OXO good grips strictly for weighing the wood, bought some time ago at Ace Hardware. Use the search feature and a lot of posts pop up.  One that has been mentioned a few times is the Ozeri.  Certainly less money than for an OXO.

We use a Salter brand digital scale in the kitchen (11 lbs max). It works just great for typical measurements as well as for weighing my wood.

I use a Cuisinart Precision Chef, does up to 11lbs and works great for weighing the wood for a smoke.  Pretty sure I got it at Bed Bath and Beyond.  Can weigh directly on scale or use the stainless bowl with Tare feature.  $49.99

I have a Polder brand that I bought a few years ago.  Been working good.  It has a max of eleven pounds.  I bought it for homebrewing use but have used it for all sorts of things.

This is what I have and have no complaints.  You certainly can't complain about the price.

I have an Escali that I bought years ago for weighing flour for bread. I think it cost me about $25. It, too, has an 11 lb max, but I use it for everything, and I haven't even had to replace the battery.
