Title: Building a Cart for my Model 3
Post by: tigerfan79 on January 30, 2016, 08:35:10 PM
Started on my cart this weekend, still have a few afternoons left to finish it but thought I would post some progress pictures.  The stain is a weathered gray and is lighter in person than it shows in the picture.

I like that stain, esp with the top showing the wood a bit.

Nice.

Matt, I hope you can move it when you are finished.  You build heck of stout!  LOL!  What are you doing with the open space?

Lol.  Yea I have a habit of over doing things, I think you could land a helicopter on this thing.  I got the hardibacker and tile installed tonight (tile is wet in the picture hence the bad glare).  I'm going to build a door and put all of my supplies/wood chunks in the space below.  Things left to do are:  floor, trim, door, and casters.

Thank you.  I love building rustic items because wrong cuts and measurements make it look that much more authentic lol.

I really like the inclusion of the metal barn roofing.  I'm trying to incorporate some into my man cave remodel as a wall covering.

Thanks, that piece is actually left over from when I did the same thing.  Only difference is I used it for the ceiling....came out great and can be had rather cheaply around here.

Did you draw up an plans and/or material list for this that you can share or did you just wing it?  Looks awesome!

Thank you.

I didn't have any plans, just starting building it.  I'll be glad to take some measurements and share if needed.

The pictures are actually quite instructive and with the smoker as a reference, it's probably not necessary to have the measurements.  Is there anything you'd change at this point if you were going to rebuild it?

So far it has worked great.  The only thing I've considered adding is a grill light of some sort but it's not a necessity.
