Built in question for Model 3
« on: August 04, 2017, 11:00:03 AM »
I'm thinking of taking my model 3 off of the cart I made and moving it into a more permanent built in location to match the rest of our outdoor kitchen.  Are there any guidelines as far as distance from combustible materials, etc. when going this route?

Thanks,
Matt

They are usually just above warm to the touch when smoking so there shouldn't be issues.  I would think that leaving enough room for proper door swing would satisfy the heat spacing too.

Matt - if you have any real concerns you can install some small spacer blocks on the back and sides of the cabinet that will keep the smoker from moving while providing an air gap between smoker and cabinet. Trim out the face and top of the cabinet tight to the smoker to hide the gaps. And as SuperDave stated, leave clearance for the door to swing open.
