multiple (4) whole chickens in a model 1
« on: April 05, 2017, 05:49:11 PM »
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone would know if you can smoke four whole chickens in a model one at the same time? So far I've done one whole 13# turkey, a few pork butts and one batch of pork ribs. I am  new at this smoking thing and so far I love it.

I think you are going to be challenged vertically. Airflow is critical to these smokers and best to not overcrowd them.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I loaded the smoker with two 5.5 lb chickens at 6:00 today and to get four in there it would be wall to wall chickens. Two fit nicely with room all around, I did stack them on top of each other one per rack.
