What's you favorite brisket brine?
« on: January 01, 2016, 12:04:42 PM »
Happy New Year, BBQ Affectionados!

I haven't posted for a while as I have been too busy to smoke lately. However, I picked up a beautiful brisket yesterday to kick the new year off right!

I've never brined a brisket but want to give it a shot with my New Years Packer!  Please post your favorite Brisket Brine recipes here as I am anxious to get this cow a soaking!

Sweetwater Spice Brisket Bath.  The bonus is when you remove the brisket from the "bath"....strain the spices from it and you have a most excellent wet rub

Thanks!  Looks good but I'm looking for something I can get/make and use tonight or tomorrow morning.

I may look into getting some of this for a future brine though.

I'm curious what brines people are using because my standard gradient brine that I use for pork and fish has sugar in it. I'm not sure I want my brisket tasting sweet.

I believe the main ingredients for any brine is salt & sugar. If not, i think its just a marinade.

Thanks Walt!  I had pretty much resigned myself to using my basic brine and am right now in the process of cooking it up. I've decided to brine and inject.

Cheers!
