Will the temperature range set points be the same as the standard Model 4?

My best guess is that the temp range will not change since smoking is a low and slow process. However, as a few others have done on the models 2 and 3 with the separate Auber, they tweaked it for a higher temp.  Whether that will be feasible with the controller built in, who knows. Tony may chime in later as he works closely with Steve so he may have an answer. Since he has the 3D, he also may be able to verify the upper temp limit.  As for pricing, Steve has always kept prices as low as possible for the quality he provides. Time will tell.

Deep in the Auber's settings is a high temp alarm.  Steve should be setting these at the SI's box limit, which I believe he has been stating is 350.  By using the Auber as the primary and only controller, it is no longer constrained to the 250 like the old models.  Low temp is pretty much your choice, John.

The high temp alarm, on the current batch of 2D & 3Ds is 300.  But, all future units will be set at 375, including the 4D.  Haven't seen the pricing on the 4D yet.

I see it's now on the website as coming soon with a temperature range of 0-375 degrees.  Price is listed at $1699.  Looks like this will be my next smoker when available.  Not sure now if if I will order it as soon as available or wait until spring so I can set it up in better weather and use my old smoker through this winter.
